Welcome to our Diagnostic Assessment Resources
Scholastic PR1ME Mathematics Diagnostic Assessment Resources are intended to give teachers an indication of their students current learning and understanding of mathematics. There are five that assess skills from a range of PR1ME Mathematics levels to determine which level is the most appropriate for each student.
Each assessment consists of questions focused solely on numerical concepts, with a pass rate of 50%. By entering the results into our tracking spreadsheet, you will receive personalised recommendations and a best fit for each student.
The diagnostic assessments are completely optional for schools and are recommended for Year 3 and above.
Here’s how to get started:
1. Speak to your PR1ME consultant: They will help you to familiarise yourself with the assessment process.
2. Download the Diagnostic Assessments: Enter student's name on the spreadsheet.
3. Administer the Assessment: When testing your students, remember that those with lower literacy levels may need assistance understanding the questions.
4. Transfer the Results: Input the results into the Diagnostic Assessment Spreadsheet.
5. Crosscheck Recommendations: Review the recommended placement level and use an Overall Teacher Judgement (OTJ). This will help you to determine the students knowledge and understanding. By following these steps, you’ll be able to provide a tailored learning experiences that meet the unique needs of each student.
