Please note: The Ministry of Education guidance is that teachers will 'teach to the year level'. PR1ME Maths for Aotearoa New Zealand Schools is fully aligned across Years 0-8. Please contact your PR1ME consultant for further advice around this and the best use of the Diagnostic Assessment.

The diagnostic assessments are completely optional for schools and are recommended for Year 3 and above.
Here’s how to get started:
1. Speak to your PR1ME consultant: They will help you to familiarise yourself with the assessment process.
2. Download the Diagnostic Assessments: Enter student's name on the spreadsheet.
3. Administer the Assessment: When testing your students, remember that those with lower literacy levels may need assistance understanding the questions.
4. Transfer the Results: Input the results into the Diagnostic Assessment Spreadsheet.
